Bye Montreal-Ouest!

It's a bit emotional right now. And bloody hot. On Saturday we're saying goodbye to Montreal-Ouest. We're really going to miss the house, the beautiful area but most of all Lovisas wonderful daycare! I think she realizes that something is about to happen because 2 days in a row she didn't want to leave the daycare when I was picking her up. She gives kisses and hugs to "Nanna" and "Daddi". Is this just to make me feel worse?

Lovisa in "Nannas" arms today when I was picking her up

Next time I'll write a post we'll be living in Dorval in our new house! Feels unreal!

She bites!

4 days left until we move! It's unbelievable! I'm struggling to clean, pack and off course take care of Andréa and Lovisa. I'm starting to feel more relaxed when I'm alone with them and I've even started to leave them alone together. Just for a few seconds but it feels like a big step! Today I left them on our bed while I went to the bathroom to hang Lovisas towel, hence Andréa started to cry. And it was not a whine cry, she was in pain. Turns out Lovisa bit her in her tiny little leg, leaving bite marks and a very upset Andréa. I told her off and she was really regretful, hiding her head in her arms. I told her to give Andréa a kiss, witch she did, and say sorry, witch she didn't. Lets hope this was a one off incident, usually she's so sweet with her little sister...

Trying new things... Some good, some bad...

Alone with the kids!

H and his daughter N are cleaning and painting at our new house. So I took the kids to the park.

 Andréa has discovered her hands...

Lovisa has discovered the pleasure of eating cookies ("KAKA!!!" meaning cookie in Swedish)

Beautiful Strathern Park, we're going to miss it!

People are really friendly at the park. That's why it's a good hang-out when your alone with the kids. Today I was breastfeeding Andréa when Lovisa spotted a bird ("Wawa!" meaning bird in Lovisa-language) and took off to the other side off the park (the park is pretty big) hence another "dad" (you only learn the kids name, this was Henry's dad) ran and got her without me even asking him. Lovely!

We spent the afternoon home since it's to hot to walk anywhere outside after lunch.

Lovisa's taking care of  "the babies"

 And me...

Taking a stroll in the garden

This chair is a bit complicated

But it's a good one to nap in!

So in one week this is going to be my usual day. Taking care of both. Better get some rest...

Our new house!

Looks like this:

Front

Back

I'm so busy packing and fixing last minute things it's crazy! We'll get the keys tomorrow and then we're going to paint and hopefully renovate the floors before moving in next weekend. And H is of course working during the whole move...

Have a great weekend!

One week later...

And little Lovisa is finally getting better. We saw Dr L yesterday and she said after about 1 minute that we have to take a urine test (YES WE DO!!!). We went home with a big jar, having a deadline to return it to Dr L before 3 pm when she was leaving the clinic for the day. It was close to 1 pm when we returned to the house. Lovisa was tired and feverish and in no mood to pee in the potty. I could feel the panic spread. Me: "you have to pee in the potty!" Lovisa: "no, no, no!" Me: "I'll give you an ice cream if you pee in the potty" Lovisa thinking about it and then "no, no, no!". Then she starts screaming. Not crying. SCREAMING. Well, after a struggle in the the bathroom, living room and hall we ended up in her bedroom sitting on the floor reading her favorite books. She finally agreed to sit on the potty and read and after about 15 minutes she said "pee, pee!" and peed a big pile! Leaving the babies with their big sister, that fortunately was home, I cycled (for the first time in a year and my god I need to start exercising!) as fast as I could back to the clinic with the urine sample. And it was so positive! Traces of blood and all kinds of ugly bacteria's. Poor little Lovisa! So now she's on penicillin and she's already much better. Thank god for drugs! But now this family doesn't need anymore for awhile I hope... Our shelf where we keep the medication we use on a daily basis is overflowing.... There's D-vitamins, stomachdrops, saline and Ranitidine for Andréa, there's Tylenol, penicillin and saline for Lovisa, there's post partum vitamins for me (that I never remember to take, but it's standing there giving me bad conscience) and there's painkillers and antihistamins for H. Enough!

Sunday bloody Sunday

Lovisa is still sick. Her fifth day with high fever. So H took her to the walk-in-clinic this morning. Only to hear that it's a virus and we have to be patient. It's hard to be patient when she's in pain and whining most of the time. She doesn't sleep well and the whole family is exhausted.

Luckily Andréa is a little bundle of joy right now and today is actually her "name day" in Sweden. To cheer us up a bit and to celebrate Andréas very first name day we went to "Second Cup" http://www.secondcup.com/ and Lovisa picked out a delicious piece of blueberrie cheesecake. She glanced a long time at all the pastries and said "Gateau!" (=cake, in French) about 10 times. Then she took one bite of the cake and left the table to play with an umbrella. I ate a piece of a very chocolaty brownie and boy, did I need that!

Tonight I'm saying a little prayer that Lovisa wont have a high fever attack and wake up. Goodnight...

PS If you wonder why I put the titel "Sunday bloody Sunday" for today's post  it's because U2 had 2 concerts in Montreal this weekend. We listened to them from our porch. And of course, it describes my feelings about this perticular Sunday pretty good to DS

Exhausting and boring.

Describes my life pretty good now. Lovisa still has a very high fever. The whole family is exhausted with lots of watching nights, worrying and comforting a whiny toddler... Today I called the 811 number ("sjukvårdsupplysningen") to talk to a nurse and get advise about Lovisas condition. She said what I thought: that it probably is Roseola ("3-dagars feber"). Turns out it could last as long as 5 days! It sucks! Good thing their strong and resistant the little ones...

 My babies!

It's sick!

Everything has been more or less sick today.

Lovisa is really sick, she came home from daycare yesterday with over 40 degrees fever. I stuffed her full with Tylenol and icecream. She's surprisingly energetic despite this and plays with her dolls, eats her meals and runs around the house.

This heat and humidity is really sick! Poor Lovisa being sick in this weather! We're all constantly sticky and you never feel fresh. I talked to my family in Sweden and they say it's very humid there to but I've never experienced this kind of humidity. Even if it, during the night, goes below 20 degrees it's still sticky and the sheets are licked around your body as a band aid. I say as Lovisa when something is disgusting: "uak!"!

It's sick how a tiny little baby can drink so much breastmilk in one day, my boobs feels like empty little bags by the end of the day. Goodbye Dolly Parton!

It's sick that it's only a couple of weeks left  until we move into our new house - this summer is going by way to fast!

And it's really sick how terribly cute my babies are when they're sleeping... Hi, hi...

Andréa's sleeping in my old sheets...

Lovisa's sleeping with Alfons tonight! And she took his pants off!

The daycare of dreams.

Is the beautiful name of Lovisa's wonderful daycare. Or, as it's called in french, Garderie des Rêves. And it is actually a parents dream to have a daycare like this. It's runned by 2 dedicated sisters. They do everything! They cook from scratch and bake their own bread. The kids are so stimulated and since Lovisa started in decemeber she learned so much. This morning H gave them the news that we're moving and Lovisa has to quit daycare. They are really sad to see her go. So I'm sitting here feeling sad to. In my dream my children we're going to go to the same daycare until they started school. Just like I did. I went to "Gullvivan" ("The Cowslip" Google translate tells me, is that really the right translation?), when I started I was still a baby and when I left I was starting school. It was like a second home. But I have a feeling my girls are going to attend several more daycares... Being part of this vagabond family has it's advantages and disadvantages.

 Mammas little handy man!

Canada Day!

Oh, what a long and hot weekend!

Friday - Canada day. Parade and fun at the park. The kids got so excited they refused to go to sleep. At 10 pm Lovisa sat in her PJ:s on the porch watching the fireworks...

Saturday - new heatwave so we took of to Dorval to explore the area around our house. Picnic close to our new house in a huge park with water games for the kids!

Sunday - to bloody hot! Took of to IKEA to get some inspiration for renovating our new kitchen. The rest of the Montrealers joined us, crowded, crazy and high sound level!
At supper Lovisa put a green pea up her nose. Sneezed 5 times and finally H got it out with a Q-tip. Phu...

Waiting for the parade. And no, that's not Andréa in my arms,
it's Joséphine - Lovisa's favorite doll...

 Go Canada!

The parade in Montreal-West

Now it's 9:30 pm, still 29 degrees and feels like around 40 degrees. Come thunder and lightening! Goodnight!
