Mosquito from hell.

This years first mosquito bite. Apparently they're more evil than usual...

My brother.

My brother lives and work in Malta. This is his latest exciting project, worth to check out, a company that arranges corporate and private events.

24:06!

This years first 5 K run and I beat my personal record - happy!

Monday masquerade!

First Lovisa wanted to be a skeleton, then a flower, then she finally decided that she wanted to be a heart on the daycares masquerade today. We tried the outfit out yesterday and the only thing missing is the heart that H is going to paint on their cheeks in the morning...

Unreal...

Not to long ago they looked like this:

 Lovisa 2 months old...

Andréa one week old...

Now Lovisa's talking about starting school, she can count to 25, she knows a few letters, she cycles, climbs and dresses herself. Andréa swings on the big swing, cycles on her balance bike, talks 3-6 word sentences like "mum I don't like peppers" or "Lovisa don't scream!" or "mum I'd like to ride my balance bike" (yes, she really says "balance bike"!).

It feels like yesterday when I was breastfeeding them like there was no tomorrow and nothing else existed but them. It all feels a bit... Unreal...

Three and a half  and two years old...

What am I doing?

Since I don't have time to update this blog one might wonder what I'm doing with all my time... Here's a few highlights:

Cycling to and from work everyday, now wearing folded cycling pants, my ass is grateful...

Work, work, work, I don't have enough time taking care of my patients, trying to do research and be enthusiastic, how do all you hard part time working parents do it? Tell me!!!

Fixing the house up little by little, this weeks project is painting a few of our indoor walls:

 Before...

After...

End of this update from a hard working woman that's going to bed in just a tiny, little bit...

Might not be such a good idea if you want to make it through supper...

A new week...

Saying bye to a lovely weekend:

And welcome to a new week (my view from my bike early this morning):

Once again I'm amazed by the power of nature, everything is so green, fresh and new it takes my breath away.

Spice up your life...

In an attempt to renew my cooking I tried something different tonight:

Chicken skewers with a touch of Asia, peanut sauce and Tabbouleh - totally worth the effort!

We really need something to spice up our life, we're so exhausted we tend to forget to speak to each other. Like two robots H and me tries to fix things around the house, feed the kids and once in a while perhaps ask each other how work was. Lovisa comes into our bed every night, often even before we fall asleep. It seems like she has bad dreams and she often talks about monsters and ghosts in her bedroom... And of course Andréa always wakes up several times during the night still... On top of this I often have a hard time falling asleep even though it feels like I could fall asleep standing up - so bloody annoying!

I'm beginning to seriously dream about a huge bed where the whole family would fit, the other morning I got scalded by Andréa and the whole family woke up of the sound of my nose cracking. The blood spurted and I screamed "I think she broke my bloody nose"! Yes, a huge bed that fits two adults and two kicking kids doesn't sound to bad...

Now it's 09:30 pm on a Saturday evening and H is already asleep and I'm going to join him shortly - oh what a party!

I'm on fire!

A new time record when I cycled to work this morning! So far this week I've cycled 91,6 km and ran 18,2 km  and my legs are feeling nicely sore...

The speed of light. Almost.

Wohooo! New time record when I cycled to work this morning. I'm so happy I've started to cycle - cheaper, faster and healthier than the metro and the bus.

A day under the sun.

It was a bit annoying when the woman that runs the private daycare annonced that she's closing the daycare for a whole week because she's going on vacation and we have to take vacation/parentdays/fix a babysitter (thank you dad!) for the whole week. But she couldn't have picked a better week because so far the weather's been absolutely lovely, today almost felt like summer. Me and the girls packed a picnic bag and went to the waterfront to explore our new surroundings.

Now they're sleeping good and I just got back from a run, wearing short pants and a tank top - what a great day.

April check-up!

Oh, this years goals feels far, far away. After 2 weeks with sinusitis it was time to get myself together and go for the first run for over 2 weeks... Although I was coughing and spitting disgusting slime it felt wonderful under the warm May sun. Here's my embarrassing result so far this year:

January: 50,1 km
February: 42,3 km
March: 39,7 km
April: 38,5 km
Total: 179,2 km

It's annoying that April was the worst month so far but I have to blame this damned cold that was hard to get rid of... Now I'm on the go again, this pic is from my run today:

Another positive thing is that I've started to cycle to work. I've done it 3 days so far but I intend to do it on a regular basis as often as I can, it goes faster than taking the metro and I get exercise for free so it's certainly a win-win situation. May is going to be filled with exercise!

Tête à tête.

To wake up the day after your birthday realizing it was one of your best ones ever is nice.Yesterday I woke up way to early and cycled to work (15,2 km single way - wohooo!). I had a nice day at work, finished early and when I arrived home I was greeted with cake and gifts.

Me in my cycle outfit blowing out the pink candles on the pink cake in front of the pink roses...

My dad rushed through Stockholm traffic to babysit the girls so H and me could had a very nice supper at a French little resto, not to far from our house, called "tête á tête". The waiter, that also owned the place, was really from France and H enjoyed speaking his mother tongue...

A genuine Bouillabaisse - so good...

Genuine love...

The perfect finish after a nice meal - creme brulée...

On our way home I got the wonderful news that a dear old friend just gave birth to a chubby, little boy and that felt like the perfect ending of a wonderful day that happened to be my 35th birthday.

Walpurgis night.

Yesterday was Walpurgis night were we celebrate the spring by lighting up a fire, sing songs, dress way to little for the occasion (because it's always freezing on Walpurgis night but your so tired of thick winterclothes so you put on your way to thin spring jacket just to stand in front of the fire freezing your ass off waiting to go inside) and get drunk. We choose to dress very warm, stay sober and go home early. Maybe boring but very necessary for this tired, snotty family...

On our way to the fire and the sun is shining!

To celebrate spring you better be dressed for winter...

 Lovisa had the best view...

And perhaps our little celebration of spring helped because today it really felt like it came, the first real warmth. We bought a barbecue and made both lunch and supper on it and the girls kept taking their clothes off... More days like this please!

Yesterday winter clothes, today sunhats and bare feet...
